Responsible gambling
Gambling is a form of entertainment and should stay that way. Because the offshore online casinos we compare are not authorised in Singapore and carry no domestic player protections, you carry more of the responsibility yourself. This page explains how to play consciously and where to find help.
For adults aged 21 and over only
Under Singapore’s rules, casino gambling is restricted to persons 21 years and older. Gambling can be addictive. Never play under the influence, and never treat gambling as a way to make money or clear debts.
Tips for responsible play
- Set limits in advance. Decide your budget, session length and loss limit before you start, and stick to them strictly.
- Never gamble with borrowed money. Only use money you can afford to lose — never money needed for rent, bills or essentials.
- Do not chase losses. Don’t try to win back lost money with bigger bets. Treat every loss as final.
- Take regular breaks. Long sessions cloud your judgement. Schedule breaks to step away.
- Use the operator’s tools. Set deposit limits, session limits, reality checks or temporary self-exclusion.
- Recognise the signs. Playing more often or longer than planned, or hiding your play? Seek help early.
Help for gambling problems in Singapore
If gambling is becoming a problem, you are not alone. The following organisations offer confidential support:
- National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) — helpline 1800-6-668-668, web chat and counselling referrals: ncpg.org.sg
- National Addictions Management Service (NAMS) — professional assessment and treatment: 6-RECOVER (6732 6837), nams.sg
- Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) — regulation and current guidance: gra.gov.sg
You can also apply for self-exclusion or a family exclusion order through the NCPG to restrict access to Singapore’s casinos and other gambling services.
Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. The earlier you reach out, the better.
